I love the earrings on the far right. So perfect!
I nominate my friend Greta to receive the sandy toes earrings. She is a loyal and faithful friend who is always quick to give wise advice and share her experiences to help other people. These look just like her, and I know she would feel blessed to receive them!
My mother has always been a huge inspiration to me. After my dad left us she essentially raised three children alone while working full time. This entire time she has spent all of her energy worrying about us & making sure we are always happy. Due to these sacrifices, she has never really learned to spend time, energy or money on herself. I’m working on showing her how to do this lately & (more importantly) make her believe that SHE 100% deserves to worry about herself for a change. My mom is one of the most selfless & kindhearted people on this planet. I know I have a lot of payback to give her for all she’s done, but this Valentine’s Day I’d love to give her Erin McDermott White’s Maribel earrings because they’re beautiful & my mom’s favorite color! Thank you!
I just won a pair of fabulous Erin McDermott earrings on another blog. I nominate my best-friend Jenny and I would give her the same earrings I chose, the Jane garnet studs. Beautiful, timeless and perfect for my hardworking stay at home mom friend! She deserves a little glamour at home:)
love the janie earrings for my bbf. we live states away from each other but take a beach trip to Cape Cod every summer. She can wear these earrings and remember our good times and we can be close, even miles apart!
I LOVE Erin’s jewelry and have a few amazing pieces myself. I would nominate one of my best friends Caroline to receive the Waverly Street bracelet – she is getting married in March (in charlottesville) and she is a very classic and beautiful person – just like this bracelet. She is way too worried about everoyone else and I think she needs a little spoiling
Love your stuff Erin!
hard to choose but i LOVE the earrings on the far right. i can totally picture my friend Abby rocking these!!
These are gorgeous earrings! I am nominating my best friend, Elizabeth, for the Black Onyx & Champagne earrings. Elizabeth spends too much of her time listening to me, she is the most compassionate girl I’ve ever met, and this would be a wonderful way for me to show her that I love her, too!
This one is for one of my besties, Katie. I would love to nominate her for the Rebecca earrings. Not only are the Rebecca earrings her wedding colors, they are also a very beautiful and unique pair of earrings, just like my best friend Katie. Katie was one of the first people I met when I moved to VA. We were both new in school and just hit it off. We have been friends for 11 years, we would go shopping together, try on prom dresses and take photos. The day I went to try on bridesmaids dresses with her, it was just like the old days. I can’t believe she is getting married. I am so blessed to be part of her life. I would love for her to win since she has been there for me all this time.
I gave my mom Erin’s ‘joyful teardrops’ for Christmas a few years ago and she was devastated when she lost the pair on a trip last year. They are simply lovely and she wore them regularly, so it would be so nice to replace them this valentine’s day!
I love the Gold Nest earrings, and I would love to give them to my friend Veronica. When I sponsored an Erin McDermott giveaway she chose those, but alas, she didn’t win. She understands me, she loves me and accepts me and we have kept in touch the past few years even though we live across the country. Even though I selfishly want them for myself, I promise I would give them to her. She also introduced me to Twitter and was behind the title for my blog, so she has unwittingly helped me expand my horizons and find new obsessions. She inspires me to be a better person, to think more, to talk less, and to accept openly. She deserves some pretty earrings.
There are so many beautiful pieces on the website! I especially love the “hope, joy and love” necklace, and nominate my friend Amy to receive it. No matter what challenges she encounters in life, she meets them with an optimistic and determined attitude. She should have a lovely necklace that captures that qualities she exhibits in real life.
I would love to give the Peacock earrings to my very talented and hard working daughter, Sasha Cannon Farmer, because we are currently living too far apart for me to spoil her in person as I would like, and I know she loves Erin McDermott’s beautiful creations.
I would nominate my dear friend, Lizzy. Lizzy is one of the most genuine and loving people that I know and despite a lot of challenges that her family has been through the past few months, she continues to have the most amazing positive attitude and infectious spirit that you can’t help be inspired by despite all that is going on in her life that might be out of her control. A funny story about Lizzy is how much she loves earrings. And I mean, LOVES earrings. More than she loves Anthropologie and Arch’s gooey brownie (so as you can imagine, a LOT
She had the most wonderful and stylishly eclectic collections of earrings. All sorts of beautiful shapes and colors and designs. As a girl who never changes her simple diamond studs, I was always in awe of her ability to find the most interesting earrings. She used to travel for her job a few years back and one day discovered that while her bag made it safely to her destination, someone with sticky fingers ensured that her earring collection did not. She was devastated when she realized how many little pieces of her life and experiences were lost with that earring collection. Perhaps they might not have always been the most expensive earrings, but how can you replace something that you picked up while studying abroad in Florence at a little market? Slowly but surely over the years, her family and friends that she is so loyal to have tried to help her put back together her collection of earrings. I would love to gift Lizzy a beautiful pair of the Cosmos earring to match the sparkle and grace by which she goes through life’s adversities. Happy Valentine’s Day!
The Rhythm & Blues earings would be gifted to my best friend Riva. Her husband and her are in the process of raising support to go to Japan as missionaries. Both are facing challenges in their family and career but are the most beautiful example of a marriage and what love actually is to everyone they know. I’d love for her to have these little beauties to take to Japan with her and remember us back here in the states who are praying for and supporting them!
I want to nominate my daughter, Clio, for the Swanky necklace. Clio is seventeen, and while she is a typical teenager in a number of ways she also stands out as incredibly mature, engaged, and compassionate. Clio was 8 years old when her little brother was born. When he was two, he was diagnosed with autism. He didn’t speak, didn’t make eye contact, and seemed to live in his own world. Even though she was 10 at the time, Clio became his biggest advocate and his best therapist. After school she would spend time teaching him words, saying the same thing over and over again. She made homemade videos, like Baby Einstein, of objects and people around him in the hopes of engaging him when she wasn’t there. She played games with him, took him on walks around our yard – moving his feet one at a time because he wasn’t walking on his own yet. This type of interaction has continued, year after year, even now that he is talking, attending public school, and is in many ways very typical. Clio has never been jealous of the extra attention her brother receives. She doesn’t show embarassment when he has meltdowns in public places or talks loudly about something inappropriate. She helps him with his homework, plays with him, and even lets him wake her up early on the weekends so he can get in bed to snuggle. I am lucky beyond belief that Clio has been such an amazing help in getting her brother to the place his is now and would love to show her my gratitude by giving her this gift. Thanks!
I would love my BFF Christine to have the Dylan earrings. They are just the right amount of beautiful and edgy for someone who loves to dance, dress up and go out on the town. She is one of those moms who is always taking care of everyone else.
I nominate my wife, Sara. She has made every day of my life better since I met her. Her wisdom, wit, relaxed courage, and beauty make me fall in love with her more each moment. She is a profound person, a faithful friend, and a supportive partner.
Those reasons, however, are not why I am nominating her today. I am nominating her because of all else she does. She is driven to improving peoples lives. As a licensed practicing counselor, she works to exhaustion most days performing a much-needed service that many of us aren’t strong enough to offer. She has heard enough heart-crushing and frustrating stories to fill five novels, seen enough tears to fill a sea, and yet she patiently listens, skillfully practices her trade, offers insight, and often provides guidance to a better place.
I think she would love Erin’s Solitary necklace as it is elegant, strong, and unique, just like Sara. I hope you’ll recognize her for all she does and all that she is.
I have a few more reasons I would love love love it if my best friend, Elizabeth Reid, to receive the Black Onyx & Champagne (I realized my previous nomination was not an appropriate size… at all). People often underestimate the expectations of best friends. It’s a pretty serious deal. Elizabeth and I always text each other both “good night” and “good morning.” We talk on the phone at least once a week, and have lunch together everyday in a secluded classroom so we can have “Ellie and Lizzy” time. We can tell when the other is upset, and are consistently honest with one another. These are all requirements, not options.
The first time I met Elizabeth was Freshman English. I was wearing a jean skirt. She sat down next to me, handed me a pair of spandex, and told me that the boys in front of me were trying to look up my skirt. She said “I’m sorry if this is creepy! But I think you should put these on.” That’s Lizzy, always looking out for everybody. I knew I liked her right then and there.
Elizabeth has taught me how to find good in everybody, and she is the one girl, possibly in the entire world, who absolutely refuses to talk about anyone behind their back. She has an effervescent character, and people are naturally drawn to her exploding charisma. These earrings basically scream “Elizabeth Reid” because they are bold and beautiful- just like she is. My life without Elizabeth would be depressing, she is the reason I never want to stay home sick from school.
